Latest HDMI 2.0a Connectivity; HDCP 2.2 Compatible

With 8 HDMI inputs, including one conveniently located on the front panel for quick connection of video sources, the NR1607 has an advanced video section supporting the latest HDMI 2.0a specification, including 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support on every input.

Built-in Bluetooth & Wi-Fi; Music Streaming; AirPlay

Featuring Bluetooth & Wi-Fi wireless streaming connectivity, the receiver is equipped with an advanced dual diversity antenna transceiver system for robust and error-free streaming, even in congested RF environments. Connect to the internet through your home Wi-Fi network (or with a hard-wired connection via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port) and enjoy your favorite tracks from streaming music services such as Pandora, Sirius XM and Spotify Connect, as well as from thousands of internet radio stations around the world.

With AirPlay, you can enjoy listing to your favorite tracks wirelessly from your iOS device, including the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, and the receiver is also DLNA 1.5 certified for compatibility with your home PC or Mac.

The Marantz AVR Remote App lets you easily control the AV receiver with your favorite portable device and it's available for both iOS and Android devices.

High Resolution Audio support

Discover the incredible fidelity of high-resolution audio tracks: this receiver can decode AIFF, FLAC and WAV lossless files at up to 24-bit/192-kHz, plus ALAC/Apple Lossless at up to 96kHz/24bit, as well as SACD-quality DSD2.8MHz and 'Double DSD' 5.6MHz. You can play these files via the front panel USB port or stream them to the receiver from network sources. You can also listen to other popular file types such as MP3, and the NR1607 supports gapless playback, for seamless replay of everything from dance mixes to opera.

Powerful 7 Channel Discrete Amplifier with ECO Mode

This receiver features a sophisticated power amplifier section with all 7 channels configured identically, employing discrete high current capable power transistors. Each channel is rated at 110 watts (8 ohms, 20Hz~20kHz, .08%THD), and all channels are able to safely drive lower impedance speakers (down to 4 ohms). Our new advanced ECO amplifier mode adjusts power consumption according to signal level, and there's an on-screen ECO Mode display that lets you see the power consumption reduction in real time.

Dolby Atmos & DTS:X

Dolby Atmos: Dolby's revolutionary Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with the channel-based coding used for decades, in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the three-dimensional space. Now, you can enjoy this same award-winning technology at home with the receiver, which features the ability to connect a 5.1 surround sound speaker system plus two additional overhead or Dolby Atmos elevation speakers for the ultimate home theater experience. Along with Dolby Atmos decoding, the receiver also features Dolby TrueHD lossless decoding and other Dolby Digital technologies, and of course also supports conventional 5.1- or 7.1-channel speaker setups.

DTS:X also features object-based audio coding, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience. Along with DTS:X decoding, the receiver features DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and other DTS audio technologies. DTS:X will be enabled via a future firmware update.

Smart TV Connectivity

Via the HDMI CEC (consumer electronics control) functionality in your Smart TV, you may be able to control your Marantz AVR with the Smart TV's remote control. With "HDMI control" set to ON in your receiver, you can set "Smart Menu" to ON to start controlling your Marantz AVR with your Smart TV's remote. The Smart Menu home screen provides you quick access to source and surround mode selections, the AVR's setup menu, and 4 Smart Selects.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

This receiver features dual subwoofer outputs, which lets you connect two smaller subwoofers instead of a single, larger sub, and enjoy the benefits of response averaging by having two subs in different locations in the room. With dual subwoofers, deep bass is smoother and more detailed, minimizing the peaks and dips that often result with a single subwoofer setup.

Multi-Source/Multi-room

Whatever your family's entertainment needs, the receiver delivers: you can enjoy 5.1-channel surround sound in the main room, and at the same time play stereo sound from another source in different part of the house. Simply connect a pair of stereo speakers to the multi-room amplified outputs, or hook up a separate stereo amp and speakers to the Zone 2 pre-outs, and you can still enjoy full 7-channel surround sound in the main room.

High Grade Audio Components; Marantz HDAM

This receiver features very high grade audio components that have been carefully selected. The whole internal circuit further enhances audio quality by delicately handling all signals via the Marantz-own HDAMs (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) in Current Feedback topology before passing them on to the power stage to fire up the connected speakers. The powerful amplifier section features discrete high current output devices on all channels, and all amp channels are configured identically. Rated at 125 watts per channel (8 ohms, .05%, 20Hz~20kHz), the receiver has the ability to drive lower impedance 4 ohm speakers on all channels.

Color Coded Speaker Terminals

For easy installation, the receiver features a horizontal row of premium loudspeaker connection terminals, and the color coded connection system includes a set of color coded speaker cable labels that helps ensure correct speaker cable hookup the very first time.

Easy To Setup, Easy To Use

The exclusive on-screen Setup Assistant lets you quickly and easily configure the receiver correctly the very first time, and the included measurement microphone ensures the correct settings for your particular speaker system. The Setup Assistant features clear on-screen graphics and text that lets you optimize critical settings with a minimum of fuss and bother.

External Control Capabilities

The receiver is equipped with a range of features that provide enhanced control capabilities and compatibility with 3rd party and custom integration solutions.

For remote control compatibility with other components in your home theater system, the receiver features an IR (infrared) remote control input and remote control output on the rear panel, along with dual 12V trigger outputs.

The AV receiver can also be set up and operated by a home computer on the network via IP control, either via wired LAN connection or via Wi-Fi wireless connection. For direct connection to external home automation and control equipment, the receiver is equipped with an RS-232C serial port.

The receiver also features Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) and Crestron Connected certification for quick and easy integration with Control4 and Crestron home automation equipment.
